What are negative thoughts /negative thinking?
In simple terms, negative thinking refers to a pattern of thinking negatively about yourself or your surroundings or about something. And as humans, we sometimes jump into this thinking without examining the evidence for accurate interpretation.
On most occasions, negative thoughts are mostly unhelpful /and sometimes useless thoughts. Since we can’t get rid of negative thinking as it’s part of the human experience, we can however teach our brains how to manage those thoughts when they come..
Because what you need to know is that negative thoughts directly cause what we could describe as negative emotions or unwanted (or unpleasant) emotions. Examples of negative emotions are sad, angry, upset, mad, depressed etc.
So its important to learn how to manage negative thinking in order to be in control of those emotions when they come.
When do we create negative thinking? We can create negative thoughts at any time of the day and at any place or scenario, there are no specificities of when negative thoughts tend to show up.
They can show up anytime, anyday, and at any second, this is why we need to learn how to deal with them.
