After reading yesterday’s email, have you thought about why you want to start a blog?
What made you want to enroll in this course and want to learn more about blogging?
Generally, there are many different reasons why you may want to start a blog.
As for me, starting a blog has been one of the best decisions I ever made. When I started it was just a hobby, but I started taking it seriously once I realized the potential blogging has.
Now, I’m happy to say that I run a successful personal growth blog for women. That earns me enough to work from home and hopefully continue to grow well in the future.
I am so excited to share everything I’ve learned with you so that you can start your own blog with confidence.
I want to say that there is no right or wrong answer for why you start a blog, and people start blogs for all different reasons.
Below are the main reasons why you may want to start a blog.
Reason #1: You’ll make a difference in the lives of others.
A blog gives you a place to express your thoughts, opinions, ideas, and knowledge. You can inspire others and help them learn a new skill.
Blogging not only changes your life but also the lives of your readers. Since most blogs are free for the audience and open to the public it is an act of giving on many levels
For instance, on my blog, I have received many compliments and comments from people saying that I have helped them change their lives.
Reason # 2: You can use a blog to promote other things.
Blogging enables you to reach billions of people using the Internet all around the world. So, if you offer a product or service, blogging can help you promote yourself or your business.
Blogging can help you reach more business and traffic-generating opportunities. For example, if you’re a speaker, then you might start getting more invitations to speak at conferences. If you do freelancing or local work, then you’ll be gaining even more exposure for your work as people seek out help through the Internet. Once you have a blog, people can find you and learn about what you’re promoting – straight from your blog!
Reason #3: You can become your own boss.
After you’ve built your blog’s foundation and start making enough money, you can become a full-time blogger and be your own boss. This means that you’re in control of how much income you make. As a blogger, you can decide when you want to work and how much you want to work. Sometimes, the more you work, the more money you can make.
Reason #4: It’s relatively cheap to start a blog.
It’s affordable to create your own blog. You can start a blog from $2.98 USD per month if you purchase through my link. Plus, you’ll get a free domain name, which is over a $10 value if you purchase through my Bluehost link and if you purchase at least 12 months of blog hosting.
Reason #5: You can side-hustle and make money passively.
Wondering how to start a side hustle? Start a blog. Yes, it’s possible to make money from your blog. Although it takes a few months to build a foundation, once you have enough readers, you’ll start making money as a passive income. With time, your traffic numbers will increase as well as your income.
You can earn money while you sleep or do other things. Seriously, as corny as it sounds, this can be a reality once you start a blog. You’ll learn how to make money from your blog as a passive income. For instance, you can earn money simply through affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is when you promote products on your blog that you already use and love. When people buy those products, you get a commission between 2%-75 %. Payments range from one company to the next.
Reason # 6: You want to blog about your passion or hobby, or just to have fun.
Maybe there’s one thing you’re good at and have a passion for. For instance, maybe you love fashion, designing, sewing, writing, or sharing jokes that make others smile. You can start a blog and document these things. You get to know people in the same field as you. Who knows, you could connect with them, combine resources, and even work together as a team.
Reason 7 You want exposure to help grow your existing business
Does your company or business have a blog? If not, then you’re missing out on a lot. Blogs can impart a lot of information about your business, even if it’s an offline business.
For example, you might find that your potential clients would be interested in stories about your company’s success, ideas, strategies, and even new products. This interest could turn them into regular paying customers. That’s a huge opportunity to boost sales that most businesses, both large and small, are missing out on.
Reason 8: To help people find information that they’re looking for.
You know that we’re always running to Google to find answers for the things that we don’t know.
If you’re good at something, why not share your expertise or what you’ve learned? Sharing your journey can be a big help to people seeking answers on the Internet.
A Final Note!
Well, that’s it for today.
Today’s lesson was all about why you should start your blog and online business.
Tomorrow, you’ll receive the next lesson. It’s all about how to decide what you should blog about, or your “niche”.
Just so you know, I’m here to help you. If you have any questions so far, feel free to ask me! I really want, more than anything, for you to succeed in starting your own blog.
