A while time ago, I wrote a post about my morning routine and described how I became a morning person. Today, I want to share with you ten things to do before going to bed that usually set me up for a more productive day, and psychologically prepares me for the next day.
10 Things to do before going to bed
This before-bedtime checklist will help you get organised and have a more productive day. Of course, you can replace any item that doesn’t fit your lifestyle. If you want to download the checklist, you can find an image with it below. You can have it on your phone or print it out.
Reflection.
Have a quick reflection on how your day was. Think about what happened during the day.
Express gratitude.
I always say it’s a good thing to say thank you at the end of every day.
Visualize
Visualise the next day- Think about how you want the following day to be. You could even write it down as a to-do list.
Read for 45 minutes.
I have this habit I have formed that, every day, before I go to bed, I read for exactly 45 minutes. In this way, I’m increasing my knowledge and relaxing at the same time.
Set next day plan goals.
Create a list of three goals you want to achieve the next day
Check the weather
Check the weather so that you are aware of what you are going to wear, whether you are going to carry an umbrella or not, or if you need to wake up early because of things like fog or snow that may cause traffic.
Take some warm drink
Sipping on something warm like x tea can be comforting and help calm you down, prepreparing you for bedtime.
Quick Tidy up
Quickly tidy up the house before going to bed. It is much nicer to wake up to a freshly cleaned home.
Warm bath.
Take a warm bath or shower to help you relax; also remember to add Epsom salt.
Set your alarm.
Set a bedtime alarm in advance, so you don’t forget.
Organize.
Organize your handbag for tomorrow and make sure it’s ready to go. You don’t want to pack in the morning while you’re rushing.
Flip through your planner
Have a look at your diary or planner and see what’s happening tomorrow at work. Do you have any meetings?
Have some calm time.
Depending on your beliefs, you can pray during this time and tell God what you’re grateful for; you can also meditate, as well. You need peace of mind as you are getting to bed.
Brush and floss
Brushing and flossing your teeth have a huge impact on your health.
Remove your make-up
Remember to remove your makeup: Always remember to remove your makeup the right way. You could use coconut oil or makeup removal wipes; these two have an ingredient that ensures no makeup residue is left on your gorgeous skin, which can be harmful to it.
Moisturize your skin
Moisturize your face with a night cream to stay hydrated overnight.
