Here are 5 questions to ask yourself if you feel unhappy in your marriage.
1. Why do I feel unhappy?
List all the things that you think are making you feel unhappy in your marriage.
Check what’s in common, is it mostly what your husband did or what he forgot to do?
2. Have I done everything I can to make it work?
or is my ego too high? Sometimes your ego won’t even let you go deep enough to find solutions that’ll help make your marriage work.
Your ego will sneak up on you and whisper “why should I be the one bothering to make this marriage work while he(husband) doesn’t seem bothered?”
That’s ego, be aware, notice it, and then decide whether to listen to it or make a move.
3. What if I can’t change my partner?
Or what if he can’t change? Can I still love him for who he is?
4. How long am I willing to wait for things to be different?
5. If there’s a way you can save this marriage, are you willing to go in and save it?
Or will you just wait and see if he’ll change on his own so you can be happy?
Are you just waiting for him to accept that both of you need to go to couples therapy?
